Shark stuffed animal from a pattern

The Boy Child is absolutely crazy about sharks and his favorites are hammerheads. He already has 2 stuffed hammerhead sharks from aquariums we have visited. Then I saw this pattern and I knew I had to give it a try. The boy on the cover is holding the hammerhead. You know this thing is HUGE!

I went to Joann’s and found some nice blue fleece fabrics. Then I cut out all my pieces.

Once I started sewing, I had the body completed in less than 2 hours. This pattern requires a LOT of basting to get all those fins attached. I had to refill the bobbin after finishing this part.

Next the head. There was a bit of decorative stitching in this part for the gills and nostrils. I found the eyes on eBay sold by glasseyesonline. They have a really wide variety of glass eyes. And finally attach the head to the body and stuff. This big guy took 2 full bags of PolyFil to stuff completely. He is BIG! As you can see, he is longer than my crafting table is wide.
