Time for a little winter themed art for Girl Child. She loves to paint so I thought I would teach her about making a resist image. For this one, we used masking tape to make some very basic snowflake shapes on the paper. Then I had her cover the paper with blue paint. She wanted to mix her metallic paint and her glitter paint for more sparkle and shine. Once it dried, I pulled off the tape and voila – snowflakes!
The masking tape method was perfect for the preschooler skill set. You could certainly get fancier and do some paper snowflake cutouts that you paint over to make more detailed snowflakes.
